Privelages bring responsibilities

This past week they ” and the general community ” needed no reminder of the compunction to reach out to others when Typhoon Haiyan ripped through thousands of cities, towns and villages in the Philippines.

The heartache caused by the destructive winds and tides is reflected in a news

report about Rebecca Sevilla’s desperate efforts to establish contact with her Girrawheen father who is visiting family in the storm-affected region.

Ms Sevilla has set up a fundraising effort through the Red Cross. People can also

donate to help the relief effort through CARE Australia and Caritas Australia.

Or call the Filipino Australian Club of Perth about its

November 23 fundraiser on 0435 304 543.
