Time to move

As a very regular, responsible user of the dog beach, we are constantly confronted by novice and experienced kite-surfers infringing upon the dog beach, putting us and our pets in danger.

I have on a number of occasions witnessed novices lose control of their kite and be dragged close or onto the dog beach by the normal prevailing breeze.

It is just sheer luck that no-one has been injured.

Given the damage described to the rescue boat, I shudder to think what would happen to someone innocently swimming on the dog beach when this inevitably occurs.

If they can’t see a 40ft boat, how are they going to see a swimmer?

Given the population growth in the area and the number of people now using the dog beach, perhaps it is time this activity was moved to a less densely populated part of the City of Joondalup.
