Utter nonsense to ban horses from Mullaloo beach

JENNY STEVENS, KingsleyNorth Coast Times

WHAT sort of utter nonsense is banning horses from the beach at Mullaloo?

Not another one in the northern suburbs and look how many dog beaches there are.

Dogs can be exercised anywhere – street walking, parks, so many it is not funny.

I have owned dogs for 40 years and only on very few occasions have taken them to the beach.

I have seen dogs fight, owners who don’t care where their dogs are or what they do, dogs swept out to sea; it is a frightening free for all.

To be frank it is not the best place for dogs anyway as the sand irritates their skin and the seawater makes them vomit and have diarrhoea for at least 24 hours.

Horses have a paddock if they are lucky. You cannot even ride them in the streets as they do in UK.

Horses need the water therapy for their legs, especially if they are pacers or racing.

Going as far as Kwinana is ludicrous and on hot days is downright dangerous for their health.

Get real Joondalup council; find some common sense from somewhere because I think you have totally lost the plot.
