FOLLOWING a successful season for the kids at Alkimos Tigers Rugby League, touch football is coming to the area.
Alkimos Tigers Touch will host a come and try day on September 30 before the competition kicks off on October 7.
President Lynette Wikaira said this would be the club’s first season of touch football, giving the juniors something to play during summer.
“I can see this will help the younger ones that are currently in sport to keep up there fitness,” she said.
“Touch football complements rugby league whilst waiting for the next season to come round for their winter sports.”
She said she expected “many kids from afar” to join the sport.
The come and try day for under-six to under-18s will be held from 10am to 2pm at Heath Park in Eglinton.
It will include skills and drills demonstrations and information about team registrations.
