SUMMER is baseball, softball and teeball season with Perth’s newest club opening in Alkimos.
The Alkimos ‘Titans’ is the northern corridor’s most recent ball club, which aims to offer sporting opportunities for young or old, and to all levels of experience.
With a range of options for all ages, its participants and supporting community has grown rapidly.
Alkimos ball club aims to further the sporting careers of players throughout the area, from five-year-olds with ‘joey’ ball through to masters.
Although Alkimos Ball Club are in their inaugural year, their D-grade senior baseball team have achieved high results topping of the ladder, undefeated out of the 10 teams in the league around the Perth region.
Titans are proud to have a number of highly experienced players and qualified coaches throughout the club to share knowledge and provide guidance.
President and player Justin Hoen said he started the club mainly because of the juniors.
“The growth in this area is huge and is only going to get bigger, so it’s a good opportunity to expand the sport we love playing,” he said.
“My aim is to have the club playing at a state league level in the future so the juniors have something to aim for and to ensure they are able to continue playing the game once they are older.
“At the same time we are trying to build a nice family environment so everyone can bring their kids down and have fun.”
The Titans’ next home games will be from 12pm and 3pm on Sunday, January 13 at Kingsbridge Park in Butler with a Mexican-themed fundraiser to raise funds for club infrastructure.
