Avon Descent: Steve and Alannah Brown in father-daughter bid

Eglinton residents Steve and Alannah Brown (17) will tackle the power dinghy category, where they are looking a solid chance for a strong performance.

The pair performed well in time trials over the weekend, ranking in the top 10 boats overall and top three in the Super Standard class.

Brown, in his 22nd Avon Descent, came sixth in the event last year, but was not racing with his daughter.

Alannah is learning off one of the best, with the Mindarie Senior College student’s father an accomplished driver with more than 20 years experience in boat building.
