New course a hit

Ninyette finished seven under par with 65 at the Yanchep Golf Estate Sun City Pro-Am, beating 36 other competitors to pocket $2245 in winnings.

The tournament was the first since Sun City Country Club had six holes redesigned by Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead.

The course conditions are getting better and the greens are getting faster and faster. Everyone at Sun City (Country Club) should be proud, Ninyette said.

South Australian Tom Bond came second with a score of 67.

More than 90 amateur players took part in an assisted ambrose competition the same day.

Amateur tournament regular James Graham from RJ Vincent said the redeveloped course had added to the fun of this years Pro Am.

Its much more professional than last year, he said.

Our pro was extremely professional but very friendly and co-operative.

He gave hints and tips and was very understanding of our abilities or lack of. It was a great day out.

Peet Limited managing director and chief executive Brendan Gore said he was proud of the relationship Yanchep Golf Estate had built with Sun City Country Club.
