Shire president Michael Aspinall said 115 competitors took part as individuals and teams in the inaugural event, which coincided with the 10th birthday of Gingin Iluka Aquatic Centre where the race started and finished.

‘Events like this bring the whole community together, either as participants competing on the day or one of the 40-odd volunteers (including Shire staff) who made the event run like clockwork,’ Shire CEO Jeremy Edwards said. He hopes the challenge will become an annual event.

Full race results are available on the Shire’s website.
