BUTLER students recently travelled to Wembley to help run the No Limits Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC) Inclusive Soccer Carnival.
The years 11 and 12 students from Irene McCormack Catholic College were among five schools with seven teams taking part in the ACC Inclusive Sport event, which provided competitive opportunities for all students.
“In the sport and recreation course at the college, the students learn how to officiate games, and how to design and conduct training sessions,” soccer academy co-ordinator Damian Stefanoff said.
“This day was a great opportunity for the students to put their skills into practice.
“The students not only refereed the games, but helped the teams and players who needed a bit more assistance.
“This was rewarding when our students saw the appreciation on the players’ faces, and the joy when they achieved individual and team success.”
Five Perth Glory players also visited Pat Goodridge Reserve to watch the games and speak to student helpers and players.
