QUINNS Rocks Junior Cricket Club’s inaugural girls team made its debut in the Perth Scorchers Girls League this month.

The under 13 team played their first match on October 14 at Bramston Park in Burns Beach.

“It has been a long term goal of the club to have a girls team in the junior cricket competition and this year their dream became a reality,” registrar Serena Spadaro said. “The club received an overwhelming response to calls for girls to register that they even have a waiting list.”

There are 10 girls aged nine-13 in the team, all with varying levels of experience. They train once a week and play games in a T20 format on Saturday mornings.

“The club is also keen to enter an U15 team as well as another U13 team,” Spadaro said.
