Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club’s Toby Morrell wins WACA volunteer of the year title

QUINNS Rocks Junior Cricket Club coaching director Toby Morrell recently won the WA male volunteer of the year title at the WA Cricket Association’s annual volunteer awards.

Morrell has volunteered with the club in a variety of roles for about 11 years, including as the coaching and compliance director for the past seven years.

Vice president Serena Spadaro was a finalist in the female category at the January 28 awards, held at Optus Stadium, and three other volunteers from the Quinns club were also nominated for awards.

Joondalup Kinross Cricket Club’s Marty Davis received the award for young volunteer of the year.

WACA community cricket general manager Jo Davies said volunteers were the lifeblood of community cricket.

“Our volunteers contribute in so many different ways and often it goes unnoticed, so it’s great to be able to show our appreciation for all they do,” she said.
