WA’s Olympic silver medallist Sonja Johnson will head the WA team when they take on Australian and international riders at the Eventing in the Park competition on the foreshore of the Swan River.

The grand prix course is made up of 27 show jump and cross country obstacles that will be up to 1.3m high and 1.4m wide. Riders will go against the clock to decide the winner.

To add a twist to the contest, there is a huge optional jump at the finish called The Joker, which can earn riders points if they are brave enough to risk it.

Johnson said the event was a chance to showcase Australian riders to the people of Perth.
