The eight-year-old and 120 other skateboarders and scooter riders will compete for glory in their age groups at the YMCA headquarters and skate park in Leederville.
YMCA youth engagement manager Linda Trunkfield said CJ was an avid skater who had travelled from Yanchep for the metro qualifying rounds.
‘Although he’s quite a bit younger than some of the other competitors, age has been no barrier to stop CJ bringing out the big tricks and showing off his signature moves on the quarter pipe,’ she said.
The skate competition forms part of the YMCA youth engagement strategy.
‘Our focus is to provide young people with meaningful activities that allow them to have fun, socialise and learn about a range of issues in a safe environment,’ YMCA Perth chief executive Ross Kyrwood said.
