Quinns Baptist College students Megan Quick (Year 11), Storm Joubert (Year 11), Bianca Evans (Year 11) and Lee Dennis (Year 9) will swim the 19.7km Rottnest Channel Swim on February 22.

Coach Ian Bower said the teenagers and 13 of their peers travelled to Busselton a fortnight ago for that race.

‘Each swimmer successfully completed their event ” Megan Quick, Bianca Evans, Storm Joubert, Sarah Whitney and Lee Dennis all completed the 3.6km solo swim,’ he said.

The other dozen students paired up or formed a group of four to swim the same distance.

‘Swimming around the end of the Busselton Jetty was the end result of five months training,’ he said. ‘Each swimmer learnt the value of supporting each other and overcoming hardships.’
