Open Water Swim Series to hit Alkimos

A partnership between Peet’s Shorehaven at Alkimos estate and Swimming WA will see the Open Water Swim Series head to the northern suburb for the eighth round.

Hundreds of competitors and spectators are expected to attend when it kicks off on January 10 next year.

There will be competitive swims over five distances – 500m, 1.25km, 2.5km, 5km and 10km.

Activities such as beach races, face painting, bouncy castle and more will be available to spectators from 8am.

Peet managing director Brendan Gore said they were also working with Swimming WA to provide a free training program for beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmers.

It will start on January 17 and have five two-hour sessions for children over the age of 10 and adults of varying abilities.
