The 5km race had a thrilling finish when 17-year-old Kieren Pollard outran his teammate to finish in a time of 57 minutes and 13 seconds, six minutes faster than last year’s winner of the same event.
Kieren praised the conditions on the day and said he was happy with his time.
“It was a tactical race and having Jack there to really push the pace in the second half made for a fast race,” he said.
Other winners were Nelli Johnson (9) in the 500m swim, Daniel Macey in the 1.25km and Guy Davis won the 2.5km race.
