CARRIE Prosser Realty director Carrie Prosser returned from the World Championship in Hawaii earlier this month.

It was her 16th ironman event.

Mrs Prosser dreamt of competing in the race, which is considered the world’s toughest with a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and a 42.2km run, since her first triathlon eight years ago.

Despite breaking her shoulder six weeks before the event, Mrs Prosser completed the triathlon.

“When I first got into triathlons, I was very unfit and training was challenging,” she said.

“I couldn’t run more than 2km and I only knew how to swim breaststroke, but I’ve always felt if you want something enough, you can do it.

“You just need to create small goals and push yourself to meet them.”

Mrs Prosser plans to compete at the Ironman WA in Busselton in December.
