Annual Pinjarra Garden Day at Edenvale this weekend

PINJARRA turns it on this Sunday with the annual Pinjarra Garden Day at Edenvale.

The free family event caters for all ages and promotes the health and well-being benefits of gardening in a festival atmosphere.

Thorpe will discuss companion planting with roses, try to solve some sticky problems and judge several competitions.

New attractions include a hanging basket competition.

Baskets should be not more than 12 inches and taken along on the day.

There will be high tea at the Edenvale homestead, a decorated garden hat competition, best dressed fairy, groovy gnome and cute garden bug competition with a mini high tea for all entrants, pet rock hunt, face painting with the fairies from the Fairy Dell entertainment with Steve Lee Lewis, a mini-animals farm, pony rides, outdoor chess, yummy food, and demonstrations by all Edenvale user groups.

Melanoma WA will run a soft toy stall and mini-art competition.

The garden day runs from 10am until 3pm.
