Elderly man charged after allegedly pulling shotgun on off-road motorbike riders

AN elderly man has been charged for allegedly pulling a gun on two people who became lost while riding off-road motorcycles on a bush track south of Perth.

At about 3pm on Saturday June 10, two men were riding their bikes in the vicinity of Darling Scarp Road on bush tracks when they became lost.

They stopped in a clearing of land to find their bearings when a vehicle approached them and stopped alongside the two riders.

It will be alleged a 70-year old man pointed a rifle at one of the men on the motorcycles, striking his helmet with the end of the rifle and threatened to shoot the riders.

The riders, 21-year-old’s from Meadow Springs and West Pinjarra, immediately rode off.

A Lesmurdie man has been charged with being armed and an act likely to endanger life and assault.
