Horror head-on crash in southwest leaves one dead

A MAN is dead and a child is recovering from serious injuries in a Perth hospital after a crash in Bridgetown on Monday.

Major Crash officers are investigating the fatal traffic crash on South Western Highway-Warburton Road in Bridgetown on Monday.

Police said a black Holden Commodore sedan travelling north collided head-on with a white Toyota Landcruiser travelling south at 3.10pm.

The driver of the Holden Commodore, a 39-year-old man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

A young boy who was a rear passenger in the car received serious injuries and was airlifted to Perth Children’s Hospital.

The 71-year-old male driver of the Toyota Landcruiser received minor injuries in the crash and was treated at Bridgetown Hospital.

Major Crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or either car travelling in the area prior.
