Man charged after allegedly killing pet dog with axe

ESPERANCE police have charged a man after he allegedly killed his dog – a two-year-old labrador/border collie cross – with an axe.

Police say the man attacked the dog between 1pm and 11pm on Saturday.

The dog died as a result of injuries sustained in the attack.
