A 21-year-old man will face trial over a high-speed Kwinana Freeway crash in Perth that killed his baby son and seriously injured his partner.

James Farmer, who is on bail, faced Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video link from Katanning Courthouse on Wednesday, when he entered not guilty pleas to manslaughter and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

James Farmer Junior died in the April 2018 crash in Baldivis, while Oraleigh Tirohea Aroha Raukawa was badly hurt.

He did not enter a plea to a drink driving charge, with the court hearing his blood alcohol level was 0.122.

Farmer will next face court in July.
