THE body of a 22-year-old man who drowned while swimming in a West Australian lake has been found.

Police divers are working to retrieve the Perth man’s body, which was located Wednesday morning.

The man failed to surface while swimming with friends at Lake Stockton, near Collie in the state’s southwest on Monday.

Police have praised the efforts of three young women aged between 16 and 19 for their attempt to rescue the man, who got into trouble when he tried to retrieve an inflatable from the middle of the artificial lake.
