Pinjarra’s Bedingfeld Lodge receives $2 million for a 25 bed dementia wing

PINJARRA is one of six areas across WA to receive funding for aged care accommodation.

The State Government has announced $13.1 million for regional aged care accommodation projects to support the needs of ageing residents across regional WA.

Bedingfeld Park has been awarded $2 million towards a 25-bed dementia specific wing.

Murray Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke said the older population was an important part of the community.

Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan said the investment carefully targeted areas that had demonstrated the need and demand to expand the provision of aged care accommodation in their communities.

“Projected growth rates for people over 65 in regional areas is greater, often significantly greater, than those in metropolitan areas,’’ she said.

“Quality aged accommodation will enable West Australians to continue living in their regional community while also supporting local jobs and local business and improving the lives of families across the State.’’
