Registrations open for Shire of Murray’s inaugural Pinjarra Amazing Race

REGISTRATIONS for Murray’s inaugural Pinjarra Amazing Race are open and 12 to 25 year olds are challenged to an adventure.

Departing from Murray Leisure Centre at 4.30pm on Thursday, June 28, teams of two will race around Pinjarra town centre, completing a number of physical or mental challenges to uncover clues to progress their journey and lead them to their final destination.

Prizes are up for grabs for the first three teams to cross the finish line and a number of spot prizes will be awarded during the event.

A $5 per participant entry fee secures a spot in the race as well as a competition T-shirt and refreshments.

Check-in will take place from 4pm.

Shire President David Bolt said the community was rallying through the Alliance Against Depression.

He said affiliated service organisations, local business and sporting associations as well as the Shire of Murray and WA Primary Health Alliance were joining forces to bring the event to fruition and address depression in an upbeat engaging way.

“The event links young people to services and support in their community,’’ he said.

Registration forms are available from murray.wa.gov.au or the council administration office in Pinjarra.

Registrations close on Monday, June 18.
