The Commissioner also confirmed victims had been found with “gunshot wounds”.

“At this point in time we have no information to raise concerns about wider public safety issues,” he said.

Commissioner Dawson described the event as a “horrific incident”.

Premier Mark McGowan tweeted his condolences to friends and family of the victims, and expressed gratitude to the first responders.

Police were called to the residence about 5.15am this morning.

Specialist units from Perth, including the Homicide Squad and Forensic Crime Scene Unit, were deployed to the scene.

Police are expected to remain at the residence for an extended period of time.

“This devastating tragedy will no doubt have a lasting impact on the families concerned, the whole community and in particular the local communities in our south west,” Commissioner Dawson said.

“Homicide squad detectives from Perth are assisting local police in investigating the circumstances around this tragedy.

“A police chaplain is in attendance to provide support to all persons, officers and others that are impacted by what has happened.”
