AMIDST supermarket wars for customer loyalty, a Willetton man has scored a big time win.

Steven Sevastos says he shops at The Good Grocer IGA stores – including one in South Perth – because of their range and attractive display of healthy products.

The unexpected bonus after signing up to the chain’s loyalty program last month came from having his name drawn as the winner of one million shopper points, worth $10,000.

“The added value for me is not necessarily about winning money, it’s more the opportunity to get quality produce with the points because health is wealth,” Mr Sevastos said.

As a city professional with family connections through the South Perth area, Mr Sevastos said the 24-hour Mends Street store gave him convenience without a compromise on nutrition.

“It’s just being able to get fresh, healthy stuff, that’s not substituting the quality for convenience and later on having to pay with your health,” he said.

“There’s always the added health benefit and I think this caters for that.”

He intends to spread his big shopping win among his extended family.
