PERTH’S renowned man of car sales, John Hughes, is the first inductee into Victoria Park’s Business Hall of Fame.

His current jingle reminds people that this year he chalks up 50 years in the car trade, meaning his business ‘just over the Causeway’ has been around twice as long as the council that awarded him his latest honour.

The Town of Victoria Park has started annual business awards in the year it reaches its own milestone of 25 years.

“The Town congratulates John Hughes as the 2019 Business Hall of Fame inductee,” Mayor Trevor Vaughan said on Friday night.

“John operates one of Australia’s most successful automotive businesses and in 2019 celebrates 50 years of his business.

“Over the years John has shown inspiring leadership and contributed significantly to the community.”

Archer St Physiotherapy was named overall Business of the Year at Friday’s award presentations in Burswood, having earlier won the Community Connection Award category.
