EMERGING and established talent in the hair, make-up and body art world will be vying for top artist next month.
The Perth Hair and Makeup Artist Awards at Ascot Racecourse on August 5 will be the third edition of the awards from founder Shelley Meyer.
The Bayswater mum to now six-year-old triplets created the event to showcase the creativity and skill of artists who create their looks on emerging runway models.
“The awards provide a powerful platform for the most aspiring hair stylists, make-up artists and body painters around Australia through which they can demonstrate their amazing talent to the public in an entertaining and inspiring format,” she said.
This year’s program includes live demonstrations from local, interstate and international artists and students, runway shows and masterclasses from UK celebrity make-up artist Sean Maloney and Martha Mok.
The event will then finish with the avant garde finale, The Four Elements produced by French-born award-winning hair stylist Fabian Maillot, of Yokine, and Kingsley’s Sandy Tau as lead make-up artist.
Also taking part is Tapping resident Pearlin Bracewell who last year she won the face art category and came third in avant garde following a third-place finish in the 2016 beauty make-up and ready-to-wear hair category.
The event will be hosted by Mack Reid – former contender for Sophie Monk on The Bachelorette – and graphic and street artist Hans Bruechle.
