A RIVERVALE local has landed a beauty of a role.
Nikita D’Souza (19) has been cast as Babette in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which opens on Friday August 25 at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco.
Babette is a former maid in the palace of the Beast, who has been magically transformed into a feather duster.

READ NOW“The best thing about being in Beauty and the Beast is getting to be someone so different. I love learning from the professional performers who have roles in the show, such as Lisa Adams who plays Mrs Potts,” Ms D’Souza said.
“I love watching her and how she works.”
Ms D’Souza is studying an Advanced Diploma in Elite Performance majoring in Commercial Dance, and previously appeared in Grease as Cha Cha.
“I have started singing and becoming more confident,” Ms D’Souza said.
The Rivervale resident said the most challenging part of the production was mastering Babette’s French accent.
Carlisle’s Emily Palermo (18), Cloverdale’s Paris Lindsay (14) and Riverton’s Amy McCann (15) also feature in the musical.
The family-friendly treat for all ages is presented by APAN Entertainment, and plays until September 3 at the Regal Theatre.
