He will perform the more adult-oriented Confessions of a Magician Downstairs at the Maj.

He said that magicians should be able to perform for different audiences.

“I love performing for kids and reaching them in a creative way,” he said.

“After performing my show Funtastico last year, which involved more storytelling, I wanted to perform something with more science because that’s my background.

“My adult show last year involved more exposition but this year it’s more deadpan comedy and sketches as well as answering some typical questions I get as a magician but using magic to respond.”

Ulric said he was pleased with his decision to stop working as an environmental consultant and focus full time on his magic.

“It’s given me the chance to work from home and finalise technical elements and to practice more,” he said.
