Manning Primary School to host Queen of Common Sense Maggie Dent

Bronwyn DonovanSouthern Gazette

MANNING Primary School Parents and Citizens Association will welcome Maggie Dent for an in-depth look into building resilience and self-esteem in children.

Commonly referred to as the Queen of Common Sense, Ms Dent will discuss and demonstrate practical strategies to make small changes at home that will make a big difference to a child’s cognitive, physical, psychological, emotional and social health later in life, as part of her ‘Real kids in an unreal world’ series.

Manning Primary School principal Craig Ashby said resilience was one of the school’s core values.

“Maggie is an in-demand speaker and is booked for the remainder of 2018 so to have her join local parents here in Manning is a real boon for our community,” Mr Ashby said

“Resilience is a cause very close to our collective hearts, so to see her extend on that discipline when she joins us will be exciting, educational and inspirational for all who attend.”
