Como resident Intan Zuhuri is the creative behind WA label SISS on Bare.

Having lived in London, Milan and Malaysia, Zuhuri’s eclectic taste in style draws in a niche, adventurous clientele.

“I was brought up in the UK, so I’ve got a sense of that London style, and in London no one cares what everyone else thinks when it comes to fashion,” she said.

“I think a lot of women in WA are quite conservative, they don’t often want to explore something that can bring out their personality, they want to be safe and blend in.”

SISS on Bare’s latest autumn/winter collection Indie Regiment was launched last month.

The equestrian and military themed runway showcased 30 cutting-edge new season looks for 2016.

“The latest collection was actually inspired by my husband,” Zuhuri said.

“I asked him what his dream job had been when he was growing up and he told me he wanted to be an army pilot.

“Then he also mentioned when he was younger he was involved with equestrian; that really inspired me and I wanted to see how I could involve the two themes.”

Zuhuri said SISS on Bare had big things on the horizon for 2016.

“We’ve been invited to Byron Bay for the fashion festival in April, and also Kuala Lumpur for fashion week in August,” she said.
