“It’s set in an Australian city that has been flooded and there is disease but the corporations have access to the medial treatment,” Watts said.

“I’ve studied climate change before, looking at where squid and octopuses go when the ocean changes, some species have increased and some have died.

“I’m inspired by the food chain and what happens when the environment changes.”

Watts said the book launch would be a chance to celebrate the new novella and talk about it.

“I’ll also be doing a launch at SwanCon, which is taking place at the Pan Pacific later this month,” she said.
