THE 25th annual Belmont and Western Australian Small Business Awards will be launched at the City of Belmont Civic Centre on April 18 from 6pm.

Joan Landers from the Jacaranda Community Centre will deliver the Welcome to Country, Mayor Phil Marks will offer the official welcome and sponsors and categories of this year’s awards will be announced.

Small Business Minister Paul Papalia will be providing an update on small business in WA.

The awards are co-ordinated by the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre (BEC).

The event will also include the official launch of 2018 Designedge innovation festival, which is celebrating its 14th year, with entertainment provided by singer Kaylene Taylor.

Belmont BEC chief executive Carol Hanlon said the awards were open to small businesses around the City of Belmont and WA.

“This year there are more categories than ever before that small businesses can nominate either themselves or another deserving business for,” she said.

The awards will be held at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre on October 24.
