Anniversary a time to take the plunge

Club president Bill Mortimer from Ascot joined the club when he moved to Perth in 1996 after he swam with the masters group in Alice Springs.

The 68-year-old, who has spent 12 years as president, said no matter what reason people had to join, the club had always been about being social.

‘Rather than training alone it inspires you and gives you lots of training and coaching, fun and friendship,’ Mr Mortimer said.
