The grant would also fund the procurement of two emergency back-up generators to power the installation in the event of a mains power failure.
The project aims to address the Citys ability to perform its duties after the City of Belmont and Town of Victoria Park Local Emergency Management Committee reviewed its arrangements and identified as a shortcoming the inability to perform its roles and duties should mains power be lost.
By accepting this grant and applying the project, the City would be in support of the objectives of the Natural Disaster Resilience Partnership Agreement.
This would be achieved by enhancing the communitys resilience to natural disasters through mitigation works, measures and related activities that contribute to safer, sustainable communities.
The generators would also mean the City would no longer have to rely on local hire companies for mobile power.
