Belmont Dinner Dates: City of Belmont launches community cookbook calendar

Aaron CorlettSouthern Gazette

CITY of Belmont has launched its first community cookbook calendar, called Belmont Dinner Dates.

Mayor Phil Marks said the special calendar was produced in collaboration with the community and the City.

The book came about from a competition the council held to uncover the City’s local culinary secrets with participants sending in recipes, photos and family stories behind their favourite food.

Many entries were received from which six winners were selected to participate in a professional cooking workshop with nutritionist and food blogger Sarah Moore.

A further 12 recipes were also chosen to be included in the calendar.

A limited number of copies of Belmont Dinner Dates are available for free from Ruth Faulkner Public Library and the City of Belmont Civic Centre.

Cr Marks said the calendar was a celebration of the food loved by the wonderfully diverse community in the City.
