MENTAL health services for veterans and Gold Cards for British nuclear test program participants were the hot issues at the Belmont RSL sub-branch on May 13.

Veterans’ Affairs Minister Dan Tehan spoke about a package for helping personnel transition to civilian life and Gold Cards to cover the health costs of surviving participants of the British nuclear test program in Australia in the 1950s and 1960s.

President of the Australian Ex-Services Atomic Survivors group Rex Kaye said the last 60 years showed the dreadful effects on service members and their families.
