Belmont: help warm up winter with clothing donations to Perth Homeless Support Group

Grassroots charity Perth Homeless Support Group (PHSG) will distribute all pre-loved jumpers and coats dropped off at Belmont Forum’s customer service desk between June 6 and 20.

PHSG president Ron Reid said members of the not-for-profit organisation walked the streets every weekend to speak to displaced and homeless people, and having the opportunity to give them winter warmers was incredibly meaningful.

“We can sometimes distribute as many as 40 or 50 items of warm clothing each weekend, so customers can be assured that there is a very real need out there in the community for their unwanted winter clothing,” Mr Reid said.

Belmont Forum centre manager Alexandra McAuliffe said people who donated a quality piece of winter clothing would receive a $15 fashion voucher to be used at the centre.
