Belmont man (65) charged over alleged stabbing

A 65-year-old Belmont man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a woman in Somers Street yesterday afternoon.

Kensington Detectives have charged the man with acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm.

It will be alleged about 3.10pm , the man assaulted a 49-year-old woman at a residence on Somers Street, Belmont.

She was found at the corner of Sydenham and Somers streets by a member of the public with serious injuries, and is in Royal Perth Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The man is set to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
