Belmont Primary School gets a makeover courtesy of some Coles volunteers

BELMONT Primary School students have a fantastic new-look schoolyard thanks to the hard work of local Coles team members who pitched in to revamp the grounds recently.

Team members from the Coles supermarket in Victoria Park rolled up their sleeves to help transform the gardens and level the carpark entrance to the school as part of its “Helping Hands” program.

Coles Victoria Park store manager John Chantler said team members were excited to be part of such an important local program.

Belmont Primary School principal Stephanne Dann said the help could not have come at a better time for the school.

“Our gardener has been off work for a couple of months now and we haven’t been able to get a relief gardener in the meantime,” she said.

“Being located on a busy highway, the front of the school was looking very overrun and untidy.

“The work that the team did has made a fantastic improvement, with the gardens now reflecting what a great school Belmont Primary School is.

“On behalf of everyone at Belmont Primary School, I would like to thank the Coles team at Victoria Park for transforming our grounds into something the whole school community can enjoy.”
