BELMONT seniors wanting to keep active can apply for up to $200 to take part in the SilverSports pilot project that was launched by Premier Colin Barnett at the Oasis leisure centre recently.

Seniors over 60 who have a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card in the City of Belmont are eligible to take part in the 12-month program that starts on July 1.

A Department of Sport and Recreation spokesperson said it provides up to $200 towards fees, uniforms and equipment needed for sport and recreation activities.

“This means you can join a SilverSport provider like a gym, recreation centre, swimming pool or sporting club and use your $200 to get active,” she said.
