STUDENTS from Japan travelled to Belmont recently as part of a sister city program.

The City of Belmont has had a 32-year partnership with the City of Adachi, |resulting in hundreds of students travelling to Australia to experience a different culture.

For many of the Adachi students this was their first time in Australia and they spent the week travelling around Perth and making new friends.

Their itinerary included Caversham Wildlife Park, Margaret River Chocolate Factory, Maalinup Aboriginal Art Gallery, Adachi Park, Bilya Kard Boodja Lookout and more.

Mayor Phil Marks said it was wonderful to welcome the students to Belmont.

“The City’s Sister City relationship with Adachi in Tokyo continues to be a strong one,” Mr Marks said.
