Belmont supermarket staff recorded putting shopper in headlock

Sophie MooreSouthern Gazette

STAFF at Coles in Belmont Forum have made national headlines for putting a man in a headlock after he allegedly tried to shop after the store had closed.

Captured on video by Yasir Khan and posted on his Facebook page last night, two Coles staff members were recorded wrestling with a man who was barefoot and wearing a singlet and shorts.

The footage shows the man asking what the staff are doing.

“Arresting you,” one of the Cole’s employees replies before calling out for store security.

The names and identities of the three men are currently unknown.

The video looks to have been shot around closing time at the store, about 5pm.
