SWANCARE Bentley Park residents will have a chance to show off their talents as part of an exhibition.

Arts, crafts, cakes, jams and preserves are just some of the items on show at the Bentley Park Show, which is taking place on October 29.

Committee member Sandra Dale said the show was an incentive to create art, bake cakes or explore any of their interests.

“We are expecting more than 400 entries in this year’s show, we had about 550 last year but that was special because it was the 10th anniversary of the show,” she said.

“We have a vibrant community here and the majority of the residents turn up on the day.

“It helps the residents extend their interests and gives them an opportunity to put the items up for sale.”

Mrs Dale said trophies and prizes were given out on the day, which were much sought after for the residents.

“One of the trophies is for an exhibitor over the age of 90, we actually have a number of exhibitors over 90,” she said.

“We have professional judges that we bring in and there are prizes for first and second in each of the sections.

“The residents all get very excited about winning trophies.”
