At tonight’s City of South Perth meeting, councillors will decide whether to withdraw its support from the joint submission if legal action is successful.

The City of South Perth, City of Subiaco, Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and Ian Ker joined lawyer John Hammond to lodge an application for a judicial review of the Local Government Act process.

A report before council recommends the City withdraw its support if Local Government Minister Tony Simpson’s proposals are deemed unlawful or if the process adopted by the board to inquire into the proposals are deemed unlawful.
