BELMONT Forum food court’s Bucking Bull store has been hit with $20,000 in fines for failing to comply with safe food practices.

The WA ‘roast experts’ were found by the City of Belmont to be operating in conditions that were dirty, with the premises and equipment both falling below appropriate levels of cleanliness.

They were also found to not be storing food safely, and fell short with staff hygiene practices, failing to provide hand washing facilities with soap and single use paper towels to avoid the spread of germs.

A notice published by the Department of Health announced the conviction of the Belmont business on August 16 for a total of six breaches of the Food Act 2008 (WA).

The offences are said to have occurred between February 7 and March 1.

Rudra Group Super Retail Pty Ltd was fined $20,000 and ordered to pay costs of $1800.30.

Bucking Bull staff declined to comment when contacted by Community News.
