AN ONLINE petition has been launched asking Uber to pay the medical bills of a young UberEats delivery cyclist who suffered serious injuries while working on the weekend.

Haveera Morgado was hit by a car while cycling on Bishopgate Street in Carlisle about 9pm on Sunday night.

She was reportedly dragged for more than 100m by the car and the 23-year-old is recovering in hospital.

Now a campaign has been launched by UberEats riders on the Megaphone.org.au platform, asking the ride-sharing giant to help.

“While (Haveera) was at work, she was badly injured in a hit-and-run and dragged along the road for over 100 metres,” the petition said.
