CANCER charity Redkite is holding a five-week Christmas campaign until December 27 to raise funds from shoppers at Coles Supermarkets to help meet the predicted demand from cancer patients for financial assistance.

Costs for families are predicted to soar by more than 20 per cent across WA over the Christmas period due to increased competition for travel and normal living expenses.

By purchasing a $2 Redkite donation card at Coles in Belmont, Karawara, South Perth and Victoria Park, people will be providing financial help and counselling sessions to children and young people with cancer and their families.

Coles state general manager Mark O’Connor said cancer touched the hearts of so many of their customers and team members, so they wanted to give locals the opportunity to show their support for families in need.

“Every dollar makes a difference to the support they receive,” he said.
